Ankle: Biomechanics

The ankles bear the weight of the body.
The main functioning axis in the three-dimensional space s done in a sagittal plane.
The constraints are very high on the ankle joint.
The articular capsule and tendons ensure the stability.
Muscles provide motion .
There are three points of support: posterior, anteromedial and anterolateral.
These points are connected by two archs internally and externally.
